Minute of Spotlight: AnnaLynne McCord in NYC

AnnaLynne McCord & Kellen Lutz in New York City

There is not enough words to tell you how much I am loving AnnaLynne's outfit. The shine of her pants is the equivalent to a statement necklace. Lets call her pants, "conversation pants".
I LOVE HER ENTIRE OUTFIT.

Ok. *nods* that is all.

Battle of the Platforms: Versace vs Jeffrey Campbell

Versace Platforms

A college of many Jeffrey Campbells

I remember when everyone wanted stilettos. The skinny heels were all the range and if someone like me were to think of platforms, I would probably be thinking of hooker shoes. Now that designers like Jeffrey Campbell have introduced this ultimate trend of comfort and style (Jeffery Campbell Litas' may have a 5 inch heel but their platform is only 2 inches. The perfect formula of height and comfort). Obviously, there have been have been many platforms shoes before Jeffrey Campbell but I would definitely say that they have been one of the leaders to bring back this trend. Most trendy stylista's have one or want one.

Now, the shoes in question are these jeweled-toned platforms by Versace (above). Although Jeffery Campbell comes in many different styles I have yet to see one like this one. The jeweled colours would work perfect for the summer trend which is currently featuring bring bold colours and statement pieces.

What do you think of the platform trend? Will you be caught wearing one?
BUT more importantly
 Who wins the platform battle?

Style Spotlight: Drew Barrymore

I know I never seem to be keeping up with what's new or who's wearing what anymore...I blame it on a lack of inspiration but mostly laziness.

I know this is not recent but I'm really loving these photos of Drew Barrymore at The-Beauty Detox Solution Book Launch.
Her makeup and styling is perfection. Keri Hilson can't pull off the one earring trend but Drew can. I love her as a red head and I love how she styled her glittery jacket in such a casual way

How To: Jumpsuits & Rompers (Subscriber Request) Part 1

This is a request from a new friend and subscriber mylyfe-mystoryShe is 5`2 and is wondering how on earth she can pull off the jumpsuit/romper trend.

ROMPERS
A Romper is simply a onesie with shorts attached. Many people think that this trend should be left to the kids but with these styling tips I think you'll agree that it can work for everyone.

I personally think that this trend can be more easily pulled off for petite girls than a jumpsuit. Chances are there is less of a chance that it will swallow up your size.

FIT
I believe that the fit of a romper is most important because it is something that can look all too wrong if not done right.

Curvy Girls

Romper for the Curvy Girl

Something to de-emphasize your rear could be a skirt (like in the photo above) or a nice belt to emphasize your waist.

Petite or Leggy Girl

Romper for girls with long legsRomper for the Career Girl

Size is less of a problem for you so you can experiment more with textures and colours.
The pairing of shorts and heels will do wonders for you. Wear a romper if you want your legs to be the center of attention.

Warning: Do not overaccessorize ! It will look too forced and/or childish.

STYLE
My best advice would be to look at a romper not as a complicated object or onesie but as an individual piece that can be combined with other basics to make a trendy outfit.
  • For a day time look: pair with minimal accessories and stick to a casual fabric like cotton.
  • If your transitioning your romper from day to night: step up your outfit with a blazer and some heels.
  • For a night time look: try a silky material. Please note: watch the fit with this material if it does not fit right or hits you in the wrong places...DONT WEAR IT !
I would also suggest a good belt. Rompers usually come with a little dingy string in the front and your belt could make you blazer a lot more high fashion

Drake and Cudi @ The GQ Man of the Year Party

Drake is GQ's Breakout of the Year and showed up to their Man of the Year party in all black everything. His eyebrows and beard even look tame. Kid Cudi showed up in a more casual outfit - plaid and jeans. Click here to see Drake's photos in GQ's magazine.

Fail at Fashion: Omarion

This is exactly what I'm talking about people losing their individual style. Omarion may be growing and obviously wants to be fashionable, I've seen to many fashion fails of his at public events, but I think he needs to reconsider his style. It doesn't suit him. It doesn't flatter him. Its been done by so many other people who can do it better. This reminds me of some fail version of something that a model might do in an editorial uhh seriously ?? -_____-

Moving on...HOW TALL IS J.COLE !!! DAYMNN

Sidenote: what is it with all hip hop/R&B artists doing the black trench ?

Hot or Not: Jay Z in Nerd Glasses

I'm a little bit indifferent to Jay Z in nerd glasses. Its not ingenius nor is it completely terrible. I'm not saying rappers should go back to the old generic style of hip hop. Once upon a time all everyone wore was timberland boots, saggy jeans, varsity jackets, and name brand everything. Its definately a good thing that hip hop artists are starting to have their own style but I only hope that it stays true to the hip hop culture...and doesn't water down to main stream garbage.

I mean seriously, how does all black everything and nerd glasses (which became popular in the jerk phase that he hated) go together ?

Grandma Rihanna - Dated Florals

AHH WTF...exactly what I'm thinking Rihanna.

I remember early this year giving everyone the heads up that Rihanna was making her own book. I nearly forgot about her book until I saw a pictue of Rihanna at her booksigning at a Barnes & Nobles yesterday. Really Rihanna? What were you thinking ? Does that flowery grandma dress hit you in all the right places you wanted to hit ?

I'm not suggesting that mega superstar Rihanna has to look like an uber sexy fashionista everytime she steps out onto the street BUT I would suggest her to lay off of the Grandma prints. It's not cute - AT ALL ! The boobage doesn't help make it youthful at all. It looks like someone placed a dated garden on her back (the red hair actually helped this image).

and then there was this...

from the top it doesn't look so bad...

BUT THEN ! GRANDMA RHI RHI STEPS OUT.

The fur makes me think she was going for some type of old school grandma look but it's styled all wrong. I actually don't know what could help her hear. The socks and shoes, ugly heels, busy and unshapely dress is ALL WRONG.

Get it together Rihanna. Covering up is nice but not when you dress like a 60+ grandma. Shocking, yes. Fashionable, NO. NO.

If your playing a joke on us we DO NOT love the way you lie.

Minute of Spotlight: Fall Fashions w/ Twist

Love the look and atmosphere of the whole picture.
Her mix of texture on top and the fitting pants all mixt together and remind me of autumn trees. I also love that her expression looks like she's so peaceful and focused with all the chaos behind her. I'd feel so special to be that photographer like "DAYMN STRAIGHT I GOT HER ATTENTION"

who said rainboots had to be boring ?
never thought I'd see clear one.
Calm. Cool. Collected.
...but dare I say sexy ? the length looks revealling and alluring like whats she really wearing under that ^^
but its a photo we actually don't know so I'm just thinking...WHAT WAS SHE WEARING ?
Its one thing in a photo but I don't know if I'd like it as much to see a girl walking in a blazer and her undies...I wanna know how she pulled it off.
-curious

Ashley Olsen in a chain scarf

Its the little things that do it here.
The small pops of colour and her "I'm so cool with out trying" attitude
her outfit is like a "wearable costume".
-love it

maybe not so much fall...but hey its sexy without trying to hard.
looks a little rebellious ^^

Love the poncho and shoes.

mr. newton

I've already used this photo as my tutu inspiration but the outfit as a whole just looks luxe and comfy.
The colour adds life and character, the poncho is the standout piece and it looks warm and comfy.

normally bright colours are a no no but "B" makes them work
pairing them with darker accessories. She looks so cute and inviting for once.
- note: I think I might do a gossip girl evolution. Their costume changes went from sweet school girls  to grown and classy in a short amount of time.

the clothes, the pose, the look all together makes the shoot.
they look put together (definately with some effort) but the point is, they look cool.
I get a men in black vibe just without the black...maybe its the shades.
mr. newton.

This is the difference between style and fashion. The small things like his camera around his neck, the wrap around belt (in a different colour), the texture of his coat, his glasses...show a little character.
He seriously reminds me of the creepier in the Spice Girl movie (just saying)

vintage YSL.
love the drama.

nerdy never looked so cute and comfy.
I just wanna pull out a book or start knitting.
or maybe I just want to be evil and unwravel her poncho.
KIDDING.

Tracy Reese Spring/summer2011

this happens to be my cousin's friend
Keegan Rockley.
I like the photos...they look proper. Cute bowtie.

I love the grey on gray colour palete. It looks very put together.

this is my older cousin
Denisha.
I think I've already praised her on her beautiful she looks but I love the styling and the shoot too.
I'd love to have a picture like this done.
